Energy Crisis of 2050

One hall-mark of an economy becoming a developed economy is the energy consumption by it citizens.

I am seeing this all around in India:

1. More Cars with higher power output upwards of 60 BHP are hitting the roads. WHEREAS The peak hour driving speed in any Indian metro does not exceed 12kmph.
** Sheer waste of resources - to build, buy, operate such cars/automobiles. **

2. Houses, Offices with more air conditioners, WHEREAS the semi-urban, rural India is suffering through power outage of 4-8 hours on any given day.
** Air conditioning only displaces the heat from inside to outside. At the rate of every MW that goes into cooling, we are heating the environment out there.

3. Migration to metros means expanding city-limits which means more distance to travel. More time on the roads. More expensive lifestyle and less time with family. Less Satisfaction. More Unhappiness.
The only excuse of a migrant? "There are no jobs in my hometown - that meets my qualification/desire"

Where are we going?

We are heading towards an energy disaster.

The widening gap between the Energy haves and the have nots. Resulting in chaos, conflicts and wars! The Gulf War II was indeed an Energy War. Nothing else.

To talk about the positive direction of change that we are going to witness:

1. Few promising sources of energy: Back to the 5 elements - Solar, Wind, Water and sky (how do we tap cosmic radiation?)

2. Regeneration of energy.

3. Life force energy i.e. Utilize the energy of Living to generate energy to power electronic devices.

3.1. How about mobile devices getting powered/re-charged by body heat?
3.2. How about create photo-synthesizing devices that produce glucose, which can power up animal kingdom directly. Spend two hours in the sun and get say, 200 Calorie energy?

4. Account for energy balance of every individual. Individuals accountable for what they consume vs what they produce.

Ideas galore.

PS
Why are not the US citizens rising the question adequately to bring Bush to the book - for telling utter lies and putting the lives of their (soldiers) countrymen at risk and destroying Iraq - a sovereign nation? Is the Iraq oil silencing the American mouths?
